Formidable Bangladesh U-15 girls lifted inaugural SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship 2017 beating India U-15sby a solitary goal in the final at Birshrestha Shahid Sipahi Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Stadium, Dhaka, Bangladesh on 24 December 2017.
Bangladesh, the unbeaten campaigners in the group stage, appeared tough against their Indian counterpart from the beginning in the final.The home girls in their stride came closer in the early first half to take lead which was faded away with the referee’s offside call.
After a couple of fruit less efforts, the Bangladesh U-15 girls eventually saw their scoreline 1-0 with Shamsunnahar scoring in the 42ndminute.Bangladesh then successfully defended the lead to complete the game 1-0.
Earlier in the group stage Bangladesh U-15 girls overwhelmed India U-15s by three goals to nil.
Honorable Finance Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith handed over the trophy to the winners with SAFF President Kazi Salahuddin on the stage.
