Defending champions Bangladesh U15 girls made a loud start in the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship 2018 as they stun Pakistan U15s by a massive 14 goals to nil at the Chalimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan on 9 August 2018.
Bangladesh U15s pressed high up the pitch early on producing some exciting chances before Tohura Khatun’s point blank shot earned them 1-0 lead in the 5th minute. Bangladesh from that point, hardly lost control over possession and continued to attack their opponents with success at a high rate.
It was substitute Shamsunnahar who just intensified the nightmare for Pakistani girls scoring 4 goals alone.
Bangladesh girls struggled to find the gap afterwards but the wait was not much long as they made it 3-0 scoring two quick goals by Monika Chakma and Tohura Khatun in the 17th and 19th minutes respectively.
The margin was advanced by one goal farther when speeding Shamsunnahar, with shirt number 3, cashed in on an almost lost attempt that was already cleared by Pakistan goalkeeper.
Captain Maria Manda and Mossammat Akhi Khatun struck one goal each in the two consecutive minutes – 39th and 40th – that was all for the first half.
Bangladesh, who lifted the title last year beating India by a solitary goal, seemed to have appeared stronger in the second half as they slotted eight more goals in the next 45 minutes. After Sajeda Khatun opened accounts in the second half, substitute Shamsunnahar took to the center to strike three more goals in just seven minutes to take the score to 10-0.
Afterwards, Sajeda Khatun scored once, Anai Mogini twice and Shamsunnahar one to lock the scoreline 14-0.
Bangladesh in their last Group-B match, will face Nepal on 13 August 2018 at the same venue at 7:00 pm local time.
