Semi-final lineup complete for SAFF U19 Championship 2023

Host Nepal confirmed their berth in the semi-finals of the SAFF U19 Championship 2023 after they emerged victorious in their last Group ‘A’ match Maldives.
In the match played at the Dashrath Stadium on Monday, Nepal defeated Maldives 4-1 with goals from Prashant Laksman (17’), Samir Tamang (30’, 90+6’ ) and Niraj Dhami (88’). Adam Layaan scored the only goal for Maldives in the
Nepal finished runner-up behind Pakistan who topped the group with four points. Maldives, with just a point to their credit, crashed out of the competition.
Likewise, India finished as the winner of Group ‘B’ following their 2-1 win over Bhutan in the second match of the day.
Bhutan took a surprise lead against strong favorites India in the 20th minute through Jigme Namgyel. But Gwgwmsar Goyary restored parity for India in the 37th minute.
Ricky Meetei Haobam sealed the win for India in the 64th minute.
In the semi-final, India shall take on host Nepal, while Group ‘A’ winner Pakistan will clash against Bhutan.
