Exuberance propels among girls across the South Asian region as South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) prepares for Official Draw of the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship and SAFF Under-18 Women’s Championship at the same ceremony.
The draw ceremonies of both SAFF women’s football competitions will take place at the SAFF Headquarters at BFF House in Dhaka, Bangladesh on 7 July 2018 beginning at 1:00 PM.
Participating teams will split into two groups in the girls’ premier tournaments of South Asia. The group champion and runner-up sides will vie for title in the semi-finals and the final.
SAFF, the South Asia’s football governing authority, has been organising SAFF Women’s Championship since 2010. The Biennial tournament, with four editions played, by now made a solid ground for women across South Asia to come and savour excitement of true international football.
With this success on the background, first episode of the SAFF Under 15 Women’s Championship held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017, made a buzz among the South Asian football fans. Hosts Bangladesh under-15 women are the defending champions. The second episode of this tournament is scheduled to be held from 9 to 18 August 2018 in Bhutan.
However, the SAFF Under-18 Women’s Championship, scheduled to be played from 28 September to 7 October 2018, is yet to make debut. Venue of the tournament is expected to be announced at the ceremony.
