South Asian Football Federation President Kazi Salahuddin has expressed heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims, who lost their lives in series of explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka on Sunday, 21 April 2019.
In a condolence message, the SAFF President said, “I have no words to express my sympathies to the families of innocent persons who lost their lives or were injured in Sri Lanka church and hotel bombings. An occasion of peace and worship with families and friends has been turned into a carnage. To me, it was a heinous attack on humanity. We must continue to stay vigilant and united against such acts of terrorism, which has no place in the world.”
“On behalf of South Asian football family, I request sports fraternity all over the world to join the prayers for victims.”
Over 350 people died in the blasts targeted at three churches, as well as three hotels – Shangri-La, Kingsbury and the Cinnamon Grand – in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
