Bangladesh Under-15 women finish as the Group-B champions in the SAFF Under-15 Women’s Championship 2018 beating Nepal 3-0 in the last group match at the Chalimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan on 13 August 2018.
This result puts Bangladesh up against hosts Bhutan for the semi-final set to be played on 16 August 2018 at the same venue. On the other hand Group-B runners-up Nepal are set to play India in the other semi-final of the day.
Bangladesh, unlike their first group match against Pakistan, encountered much resistance from Nepal. Bangladesh worked hard to get rid of a tough Nepal defense to rip off 3 goals in this match. The Himalayans kept Bangladesh frustrated throughout the first half which was alleviated when Tohura Khatun headed home in the extra time 46th minute to allow Bangladesh lead the first half 1-0.
The winners looked sharper in the second half producing attacks more frequently at the Nepal goalmouth. But success came through a powerful 20-yarder by Maria Manda in the 51st minute that extended the scoreline 2-0.
Sajeda Khatun scored the third goal for Bangladesh in the 67th minute to seal the margin 3-0.
