India finished the SAFF Under-18 Women’s Championship 2018 on third position as they won against Bhutan with a solitary goal at the Changlimithang stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan on Sunday, 7 October 2018.
India mid field and attack worked as a chain to score the goal but none of their attempts came to success in the first half.
India got back their rhythm in the second half and played attacking football.
The golden moment came in the 72nd minute when India central back Roy Devneta’s 20-yard long shot entered into the net beating four-defense.
A quite balanced match saw the audience where host Bhutan produced a number of attacks towards India goalmouth but hardly broke the defense.
The last 30 minutes Bhutan made few shots but failed to equalize the score, however, they have to stay satisfied with the fourth position.
The first edition of SAFF Under-18 women’s tournament comes to an end today with the final between Bangladesh and Nepal.
