Media Accreditation Tecno SAFF Championship 2026

The accreditation process for the Tecno SAFF Championship 2026 is open to journalists and media professionals covering the tournament.

Accreditation is available in three categories:

•    Photo (PHO)
•    Written Press (PRE)
•    Non-Rights Holder (NRH)

Applicants may apply for only one category. Applications submitted under more than one category will result in automatic disqualification.

PHO – Photo

For professional photojournalists representing recognised media organisations.

•    Access to designated photographer positions on the field during matches.
•    Access to the Media Tribune or Post-match Press Conference will be provided upon special request to the SAFF to PHO accredited journalists.
•    Mixed Zone access may be provided for photography only.
•    No video recording or interviews in the Mixed Zone.
•    No recording or distribution of match-action video.
•    Photographers must remain in designated areas and follow instructions from the SAFF Media Officer          and  Local Media Officer.

PRE – Written Press

For journalists from newspapers, magazines, news agencies, specialist publications and recognised online news media.

•    Access to the Media Tribune, Post-match Press Conference and Mixed Zone.
•    No recording of match action or production of video content intended for broadcast or extended match coverage.
•    No recording at the press conference.

NRH – Non-Rights Holder

For non-rights-holding broadcasters, digital video platforms and media organisations primarily producing video content.
•    Video recording permitted only in designated Press Conference Room and Mixed Zone areas.
•    No filming inside the Field of Play or recording live match action.
•    No live match broadcasting or extended match footage.
•    No activity that infringes upon the rights of the Official Broadcast Partners.
•    NRH will not be allowed in the media tribune inside the stadium. A special seating arrangement will be          arranged for them outside the stadium.
NRH accreditation does not provide match-broadcasting or match-filming rights.

Official Team Training

PHO, PRE and NRH accreditation holders may be granted access to one official team training session during the tournament, for a maximum of 15 minutes.

PRE accreditation will not be allowed to take videos in the official training.

All media representatives must follow the instructions of the Competition Organiser and designated media officials. Failure to comply may result in the withdrawal of accreditation.

Application Deadline & Submission

All accreditation applications must be submitted no later than 4 October 2026.

Applications must be submitted through the google form link provided.

Applicants are required to provide all requested information and supporting documents as part of the application process. Incomplete or late applications may not be considered.

Accreditation Conditions

Accreditation is personal and non-transferable. All accredited media must remain within their designated access areas and comply with tournament regulations and instructions.

Note
Submission of an accreditation application does not guarantee approval. SAFF reserves the sole right to approve or reject any application without providing an explanation or justification.

Fixtures for TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 announced

15 September 2026 | Dhaka

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has officially unveiled the fixture schedule for the TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026, with South Asia’s premier football tournament set to kick off on 5 November 2026 in Bangladesh.

The tournament will bring together the region’s top national teams in an exciting competition that will culminate with the championship final on 17 November 2026.

The tournament promises intense regional rivalries, highlighted by the opening-day clash between Pakistan and India, while host nation Bangladesh will look to capitalize on home support in pursuit of continental glory.

Important Notice

The fixture schedule remains subject to revision. A revised fixture list may be issued, with a potential tournament start date of 4 November 2026, pending confirmation of Nepal’s participation in the competition.

The TECNO SAFF Championship Bangladesh 2026 is expected to showcase the best of South Asian football and further strengthen football development and regional unity across South Asia.

SAFF Awards Exclusive Rights for SAFF Championship 2026 to TSA Sports and Entertainment

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) has awarded the exclusive commercial rights for the Tecno SAFF Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 4 to 17 November 2026, to TSA Sports and Entertainment, a Bangladesh-registered sports marketing and event management company.

Under the agreement, TSA Sports and Entertainment will serve as the exclusive rights holder of the tournament and will be responsible for the championship’s marketing, broadcasting, sponsorship, commercial activities, and event management.

The partnership marks a new chapter for the region’s premier international football competition, with SAFF and TSA Sports and Entertainment working together to enhance the tournament’s commercial value, audience reach, and overall fan experience.

Now, SAFF will work in close collaboration with TSA and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to deliver the competition.

“Having TSA and BFF on board for the upcoming Tecno SAFF Championship is a significant step towards our mission of developing football in South Asia. Football thrives when strong marketing and commercial opportunities are in place, and we are confident that TSA and BFF will play a vital role in achieving this objective. Their expertise, presence, and commitment to the competition will add immense value, and we believe they will help elevate the Tecno SAFF Championship to even greater heights,” said SAFF General Secretary Purushottam Kattel.

Kazi Md. Salahuddin Re-elected President of SAFF

Thimphu, Bhutan | 1 August 2026

Kazi Md. Salahuddin has been re-elected as President of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) at the SAFF Ordinary Congress held in Thimphu, Bhutan, on Saturday.

Mr. Salahuddin was elected unopposed by the Congress, which was attended by representatives from all SAFF Member Associations and representatives from FIFA and AFC.

Mr. Jaswar Umaru Lebbe, President of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka, was also elected unopposed as Vice President of SAFF. Meanwhile, Ms. Zimbiri of the Bhutan Football Federation was elected unopposed as the Female Executive Committee Member.

The election process was conducted by Mr. Shifan Maharoof, Chairperson of the SAFF Electoral Committee, in accordance with the SAFF Statutes and the Rules Governing the Congress.

Mr. Hussain Shafiu of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), who is also the Vice President of the FAM, was elected to the SAFF Executive Committee.

Meanwhile, Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran will continue serving as the AFC Member representing SAFF till the current AFC term.

Following his re-election, Mr. Salahuddin expressed his gratitude to the Member Associations for the trust and confidence they have placed in him over the years. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing football across South Asia through the introduction of new competitions and expanded capacity-building initiatives. He emphasized that the region’s footballing potential can reach unprecedented heights through unity, collaboration, and a shared vision among all stakeholders.

“I am deeply honoured to have been elected to serve South Asian football for the next term. I accept this responsibility with humility and a firm commitment to work in the best interests of our game and our region.

I would also like to congratulate my fellow Executive Committee members who have been elected today. I look forward to working closely with each of them as we continue our collective efforts to strengthen football across South Asia.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, I wish to thank the Electoral Committee for conducting the election process in a professional, transparent, and impartial manner.

I would also like to convey our appreciation to FIFA and the AFC for their continued support and guidance. Their partnership remains vital to the growth and development of football in our region.

The years ahead present significant opportunities for South Asian football. Together, we must continue to strengthen our governance, enhance our competitions, invest in youth development, advance women’s football, improve technical standards, and create greater opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and administrators throughout our Member Associations.”

Earlier during the Congress, the following agenda items were approved:

  • Minutes of the Previous Congress
  • General Secretary’s Annual Report
  • Statement of Accounts and Independent External Auditor’s Report for the Financial Year 2025
  • Budget for 2026
  • Appointment of Independent External Auditors

The Congress concluded with a renewed commitment from all Member Associations to work collectively toward the continued development and success of football in South Asia.
