SAFF Member Associations stand united for further development

The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) concluded its Extraordinary Congress 2025 in Colombo with a renewed commitment from all Member Associations to work collectively towards the development of football in the region.

The congress, held on 4 April, was honored by the presence of AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, who emphasized the importance of unity among Member Associations. He stated, “Strong and stable leadership is essential for the continued growth of football, and I trust that this Congress will make decisions that best serve the future of the game in the region.”

SAFF President Kazi Md. Salahuddin expressed his gratitude to AFC President Shaikh Salman, Football Federation of Sri Lanka President Jaswar Umar, and all participating Member Associations for their continued support. He highlighted the importance of youth development in the region, stating, “To be on par with the rest of Asia, we must give our children greater exposure. SAFF will ensure more competitions in the future and strengthen governance to make our youth more competitive.”
